UAE Golden Visa — what you need to know
Allows skilled professionals, major investors, influencers and people with specialized talents to reside in the UAE for long-term without the need for a local sponsor. Allowed activities include work and studies.
The requirements depend on the applicant’s category
Application process: proof of eligibility and compliance with the category requirements → recommendation or nomination, if required → online application → approval → entry permit → entry into the UAE → medical examination and obtaining an Emirates ID → obtaining the Golden Residence
Documents required before entry into the UAE are processed electronically
The residence permit is issued for 10 years
No sponsor in the UAE is required
The residence status is automatically renewed if the applicable requirements continue to be met
The holder can live, work, study and invest in the UAE
The holder can sponsor their spouse, children regardless of age, and parents
The holder can remain outside the UAE for more than 6 months without the residence permit being cancelled
If the main applicant dies, family members may remain in the UAE until their residence permits expire
