Seasonal work visa — what you need to know
Issued for long term residence to individuals who plan to work at certain times of the year (job specifics), or to work as a holiday stand-in for a permanent employee. The work must be full-time, without vocational training.
The employment must be seasonal or temporary
The employer must obtain confirmation from NAV if required for the relevant category
The permit is issued for a limited period
Employment is permitted only with the specified employer
Application process: job offer → seasonal work permit → D visa, if required → entry into Norway
The period of seasonal work does not count toward permanent residence
Skilled worker qualifications are not required
Allows the holder to work legally in Norway
Suitable for temporary employment without long-term relocation
The applicant may reapply if they receive a new seasonal job offer, but only after 6 months
