The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
A residence permit is normally valid for the same period as the family member's who is in the Faroe Islands (the sponsor) permit. However, the period cannot exceed 1 year. Once a residence permit is approved, the applicant if their nationality requires a visa to enter the Faroe Islands, should apply for a national entry visa (D visa) with a maximum validity of 180 days. The exact period of validity is determined by the immigration service and is not directly dependent on the applicant. Upon arrival in the Faroe Islands, the applicant must receive a residence permit card.
