Allows residence in the Faroe Islands for family members of citizens or residents, and individuals with a local origin. Applications are processed by Faroese authorities (Útlendingastovan). Visa-exempt nationals are allowed to enter the Faroe Islands with their passport and residence permit approval letter. If a national (entry) visa is required, it is arranged in advance, along with the residence permit. It requires individuals to obtain a residence card upon arrival.
