Family of UAE citizen visa — what you need to know
Allows the citizen’s family members (e.g., a foreign wife) to reside in the country long-term with resident status. A foreign spouse, parent, or child of a UAE citizen who holds a foreign passport can obtain a 5-year residence visa without the requirement to work in the UAE.
The sponsor must be a UAE citizen
A family member must obtain a separate work permit to take up employment
Application process: proof of family relationship → application submitted by the UAE citizen → entry permit (visa) → entry into the UAE → medical examination for applicants over 18 → obtaining an Emirates ID and family residence permit
