Domestic worker visa — what you need to know
Allows a foreign domestic workers hired by private individuals to enter the UAE.
The sponsor is a private individual or family
Intended only for specified domestic worker occupations, including housekeepers, nannies, cooks, drivers, gardeners, home healthcare workers and private tutors
The worker must be between 18 and 60 years old
A foreign resident or investor acting as the employer-sponsor must have an income of at least AED 25,000 per month
Application process: employment contract → MOHRE permit → entry permit for employment (visa) → entry into the UAE → medical examination and obtaining an Emirates ID
Documents required before entry into the UAE are processed electronically
Applicants earning at least AED 4,000 per month, or AED 3,000 with accommodation provided, can sponsor their family members
Family members may work after obtaining a separate work permit
The employer-sponsor arranges the work permit and residence permit
The employer must provide accommodation, food and medical care or health insurance
