Digital nomad visa DTV — what you need to know
For digital nomads, remote workers, foreign talent, and freelancers who wish to live and work in Thailand. Requires proof of employment or freelance work, such as an employment contract, certificate, or portfolio. Allows an extended stay in Thailand while continuing professional activities remotely. The visa is valid for up to 5 years, allowing the foreigner to stay in Thailand for up to 6 months at a time, and can be extended. Almost all Thai embassies around the world stopped accepting paper applications and switched to online visa processing.
A special tourist visa, not a temporary residence permit
Remote work is permitted only for foreign employers or foreign clients
Financial reserve — from 500,000 THB on the date or for the period specified by the consular office
180 days per entry, with the possibility of extension for an additional 180 days
Application is submitted online through the e‑Visa system
Relocation is possible with a spouse and children under 20 years of age (without the right to work)
