Exchange student visa (6 months or more) — what you need to know
For foreign exchange students attending a Taiwanese university or educational institution under an official bilateral exchange programme for 6 months or more. For stays of less than 6 months, a Visitor Visa is used instead. Applicants who entered Taiwan on a Visitor Visa for exchange student purposes may apply directly to the NIA for an ARC without obtaining a separate Resident Visa. Cannot be applied for by those who entered without a visa, on a landing visa, or on a Visitor Visa for a purpose other than study.
