Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
Allows temporary visits longer than 90 days in a 180-day period. A visitor’s permit is a residence permit reviewed by the Swedish Migration Agency. The applicant must have funds, a return ticket, and travel insurance. Also applies to those in Sweden on a C visa or visa-free who wish to extend their stay without intent to work and settle.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
The tourist visitor residence permit allows entry and temporary stay in Sweden from 90 till 180 days. The Swedish Migration Agency decides the length. Сitizens of countries that require an entry visa must collect a residence card at the embassy and travel with it and a passport; visa-free nationals can enter with a passport and decision copy, but obliged to visit the Swedish Migration Agency upon arrival.

Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
Issued for tourist visits longer than 90 days but no more than 6 months.
1 year
Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
An extension is possible within 1 year from the date of first entry. But more often, permission is immediately granted for the entire requested period of up to a year.
single-entry
The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
The residence permit is only valid for one visit and does not give the right to work or settle in Sweden.

Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The time period for reviewing an application may vary depending on the circumstances and workload of the migration agency.

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
Visa fees are waived for the following categories of the applicants: -family members of EU/EEA citizens. In this context, Swedes do not count as EU citizens; -EU/EEA citizens who are applying for a residence permit; -Swiss citizens and their family members; -Japanese citizens; -people who are in Sweden and who are unable to return home due to an extraordinary event (this applies to you who state extraordinary event as the only reason for application). The consular fee is the official charge for processing a visa and a residence permit application at the embassy, consulate or immigration office in Sweden and does not include additional charges that may be incurred depending on where and how the application is submitted, such as fees at visa centers, costs of permits or documents, postage or courier services, etc.

Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least three months and with at least two blank pages.
Photograph
Must be recent (taken within the last 6 months), in color, clear, and sized 35x45mm. The face should occupy 70-80% of the image, printed on high-quality, matte paper with a plain, light background. Hair must not cover the eyes or eyebrows. Headwear is not permitted unless worn for religious or medical reasons, and the full face must remain visible.
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
Proof of financial means
Recent bank statement for the last 3 months or any other proof of income. This document must demonstrate sufficient funds (SEK 450 per day/person) to support oneself for the entire stay and for return expenses. In cases of sponsorship by a host, an invitation letter with financial commitments and proof of the sponsor's income must also be provided.
Financial maintenance form
Filled form regarding financial maintenance, if someone else will be supporting the applicant financially (a guarantor) and a copy of the guarantor’s ID card.
Documents required vary depending on individual circumstances, specific visa conditions, the place, and the method of application.
Travel health insurance
Valid for the entire Schengen area and the full duration of stay, covering at least €30,000, and include emergency medical care, hospitalization, and repatriation, including in case of death.
Current immigration or residence status
National passport or ID card; residence permit or other document confirming the right to legally reside in the country of residence, if it differs from the one stated in the applicant's passport.
Documents for minor children
Birth certificate, adoption certificate, or guardianship certificate evidencing parental or guardianship rights; certified power of attorney or permission from parents or legal guardians for minors traveling abroad.
Receipt of fee payment
Confirmation of the visa application processing fee.
Power of attorney
A representative can apply, if the applicant grants them power of attorney. In that case, the person who applies must attach a copy of the power of attorney to the application.
*Foreign official documents must be apostilled and legalized in accordance with the regulations of the country whose consular or diplomatic mission they are being submitted to. Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
**Prior to submitting the documents, it is strongly advised to verify the specific procedures and requirements with the relevant mission.
