Residence visa with work permit exemption — what you need to know
Allows certain categories of professionals to live and work in Spain for more than 90 days without the need to apply in advance for a work permit. This visa is designed for managerial, teaching, or research staff; civil servants or military officers; and professionals in journalism, religion, international trade, and culture.
Does not grant the right to employment; activity is permitted only within the declared specific purpose
The initial authorization is issued for the duration of the activity, but for a maximum of 1 year
For stays exceeding 6 months, a TIE card must be obtained after entry
There is no single salary threshold
Family reunification is not available; family members need their own legal grounds to enter Spain
