Cultural interest visa — what you need to know
Issued to artists and cultural workers who demonstrate, by means of an opinion from the competent ministry, that their presence serves an interest of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of culture. Foreign nationals whose residence serves the national interest may be issued a temporary residence permit for this purpose. The procedure is initiated by the state authority or ministry that has an interest in their stay. The corresponding authority submits a proposal to the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, describing the nature of the national interest, enclosing the foreigner's written consent to the procedure, and providing proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the entire period of validity of the permit, as well as evidence of adequate health insurance. Upon the Government's approval, the Ministry of the Interior issues the permit. It is granted for up to 5 years.
