Transit visa

Visa overview

Issued to passengers flying with Qatar Airways and transiting for 6–12 hours at Hamad International Airport. Applicant should be from a visa required country but interested in a Doha transit tour. Application is made at the Discover Qatar Desk located in the airport. For longer stays, a 96-hour transit visa is also available at the airport.

    Visa validity period

    The right to apply for a transit visa is unlimited as long as the criteria for such entry are met and all applicable rules and laws are complied with.

    Duration of stay

    The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.

    For stays longer than 12 hours, the applicant is invited to consider a stopover transit visa.

    Extension of stay

    The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.

    Transit visa can not be extended.

  • single-entry

    The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.

    Number of entries

    A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.

    Processing time

    Consular fee

    This visa costs QAR 100, to be paid upon final approval.
