Job seeking visa to Norway for Indian citizens
Visa overview
Issued to a recent graduate in Norway or a researcher. The applicant must apply upon completing the education but while their study permit is valid. Sufficient funds requirements apply (at least NOK 27116 per month). The applicant is allowed to work in jobs that do not require skilled workers during the job-seeking process but cannot be self-employed or run a business in Norway.

Consular fee

Documents

Mandatory

Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least three months and with at least two blank pages.
Photograph
Must be recent (taken within the last 6 months), in color, clear, and sized 35x45mm. The face should occupy 70-80% of the image, printed on high-quality, matte paper with a plain, light background. Hair must not cover the eyes or eyebrows. Headwear is not permitted unless worn for religious or medical reasons, and the full face must remain visible.
Proof of accommodation
Confirmed hotel booking, rental contract, proof of residential property or staying with a private host covering the whole duration of the stay.

Supporting
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
Documentation of work experience
If applicable. Work certificates from previous employers that contain detailed information about length of employment, training, tasks, qualifications. Courses in the profession documentation as a supplement to the work certificates. The documentation must contain information about the duration/number of hours and the content of the course.
Education proof
A diploma and transcripts showing how long the education lasted, the level and the content. If the education is not completed at the moment - documentation which shows how long the education lasted, the level and the content.
Proof of financial means
A bank statement which shows all transactions and how much money the applicant had in the account every month for the last 6 months. If the applicant has several bank accounts in Norway, they must enclose a bank statement for all accounts.
Current residence permit
Applies if the applicant holds valid student residence permit. Documentation which shows completed degree/education in Norway, or that the applicant have taken all exams and/or handed in all assignments which are necessary to complete the degree/education in Norway.
Additional
Documents required vary depending on individual circumstances, specific visa conditions, the place, and the method of application.
Travel health insurance
Valid for the entire Schengen area and the full duration of stay, covering at least €30,000, and include emergency medical care, hospitalization, and repatriation, including in case of death.
Current immigration or residence status
National passport or ID card; residence permit or other document confirming the right to legally reside in the country of residence, if it differs from the one stated in the applicant's passport.
Receipt of fee payment
Confirmation of the visa application processing fee.
Power of attorney
If the employer will apply on behalf of the employee, or for another person in Norway to follow up the application in UDI on the behalf of the applicant.

Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
