to 1 month
Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
A transit visa to Malaysia is usually issued in the form of a special permit or stamp in a passport that allows foreign nationals to transit through Malaysia for a short period of time. This visa is not a separate document, but rather a stamp or permit issued by immigration authorities upon entry into the country. The decision on the issuance and validity period of an e-visa is made at the Malaysian consulate/embassy and is not directly dependent on the applicant. The maximum validity period, i.e. the period of time within which one must enter the country on this visa, is 30 days. Within three days before entering Malaysia, all foreign nationals, except permanent residents and certain other categories of persons, are required to complete a Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Once the MDAC is filled out, a confirmation email is sent to the applicant, which they need to show to the officer at passport control.
from 1 day to 5 days
Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
The authorized period of stay on this visa is usually not more than 5 days. Immigration authorities, however, have the authority to adjust the authorized period of stay if the officer considers that the applicant has insufficient means of accommodation or there is no clear purpose for the stay.
Not applicable
Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
An extension is only possible in exceptional cases if serious circumstances have arisen that make it impossible to leave the country before the expiry of the authorized period of stay.
single-entry
The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
This visa is valid for one entry.
from 3 days to 7 days
