Citizens of certain countries are allowed to enter the Lao PDR without visa for a period depending on their nationality. The stay is not extended; however, by obtaining an electronic visa, guests can stay in Laos for up to 30 days with the right to extend. All foreigners are required to submit Lao PDR Immigration card within 3 days before arrival.

For staying in Laos over the Exemption Period, the travelers should apply for the appropriate e-Visa. In emergency cases, a visa-free stay can be extended by the Laos Immigration Department.

Birth certificate, adoption certificate, or guardianship certificate evidencing parental or guardianship rights; certified power of attorney or permission from parents or legal guardians for minors traveling abroad.
Travel medical insurance
Valid travel insurance, covering necessary medical expenses, including urgent medical assistance and possible repatriation.

Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
