Work visa — what you need to know
Allows non-EU citizens to access the Italian territory to carry out work activities. It's a type of long-stay visa, also known as a National visa. The applicant's employer has to apply for a Nulla Osta document (Authorization) at their province’s (Prefettura’s) Immigration Office before applying for a visa.
The process is initiated by the employer (obtaining the Nulla Osta)
Procedure: Nulla Osta approval → D visa issuance → entry into Italy → employment and accommodation contract → residence permit
Pay must comply with the national collective agreement (CCNL)
