Visa overview
Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
Granted to third-country nationals who possess a professional qualification, professional athletes or coaches, performers, and individuals employed in a film production business registered under the Motion Picture Act.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
A long-term visa for the purpose of collecting a residence permit is issued for a duration of 365 days, allowing a maximum stay of 30 days. During this period, the visa holder must visit the relevant regional office of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, based on the location of the applicant's intended accommodation to obtain the residence permit and register their accommodation.

The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.

Students awarded a scholarship under the Stipendium Hungaricum program, funded by the Hungarian government, are exempt from the visa fee. Employment contract
Preliminary agreement or a valid work contract established for an employment requiring higher professional qualification.
Proof of qualification
Certificate of higher education or professional qualifications required for the job specified in the preliminary agreement or work contract (not applicable for a professional sportsperson, professional coach, performer, or film producer).
Agreement between companies
If the employment was established on the basis of an agreement concluded between an employer established in a third country and a Hungarian employer in order to fulfil an agreement, the agreement between the entities must be attached.
Proof of a company's operation
For owners and executives. Detailed statement of the economic activity, certificate from the tax authority stating that the company is not liable for taxes and contributions, it is not subject to execution or liquidation proceedings. Evidence confirming the company has fulfilled its obligations relating to the declaration of all its employees to the immigration authorities and the payment of taxes and contributions.

Evidence of the conditions of departure
A valid passport, or a permit required for a foreign national to return to their country of origin or residence, and valid tickets for the intended journey or sufficient funds to cover the travel expenses.
Travel health insurance
The applicant must provide a copy of the social security card issued by the Hungarian authorities, business health insurance policy entitling the applicant to full health care and a certification confirming the payment of the insurance, a statement of bank account balance to cover healthcare expenses.
Proof of financial mean
Preliminary agreement, proof of income issued by the tax authority for the previous year, certificate on regular income issued by the employer, bank account statement, an account statement on savings or stocks and bonds, bank balance statement.
Proof of accommodation
A residential lease contract, document proving the ownership of the applicant's apartment in Hungary, documentary evidence to verify the reservation of accommodation and payment, a certificate of accommodation provided by the employer.
Documents for minor children
Documentary evidence confirming the applicant's parent or legal guardian has consented to their stay in Hungary. The parental consent must be provided in a private or authentic instrument with full probative value.
*Foreign official documents must be apostilled and legalized in accordance with the regulations of the country whose consular or diplomatic mission they are being submitted to. Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
