Visa for seeking a job or starting a business — what you need to know
Designed for foreigners with a valid residence permit for the purpose of research who have completed their research and wish to pursue employment or start a business related to their research. Also, available to holders of a valid residence permit who have completed their studies and seek employment or wish to start a business matching the level of completed studies.
Relocation with family and family reunification are not allowed
Work or business must correspond to the level of education or research
The application can be submitted only from Hungary through Enter Hungary 15 days before the expiry of the current residence permit
The residence permit is issued for 9 months and cannot be extended
Procedure: completion of studies or research in Hungary → registration as a job seeker / obtaining confirmation from a company that work will start within 3 months → submission of the application via Enter Hungary → obtaining a residence permit → job search or business preparation → in-country application for a Hungarian Card, EU Blue Card, or Guest self-employment residence permit
It is possible to switch within the country to a Hungarian Card, an EU Blue Card, or Guest self-employment
The period of residence may be counted towards obtaining an EU Residence Card
