from 3 months to 1 year
Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
A national visa, in most cases, has a limited validity of 3 to 6 months. Depending on the purpose of stay, it is usually necessary to apply for a residence permit after entry. If the planned stay does not exceed one year, a visa may be issued for the entire duration of the intended stay.
from 3 months to 1 year
Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
As a rule, this visa serves only as an entry document; it is recommended to apply for a temporary residence permit at the authorized foreigners' office in Germany within 15 days of entry. Otherwise, the period of stay is limited to the date indicated on the visa. However, this visa allows a maximum stay in the country of up to 12 months.
Not applicable
Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
The maximum period of stay and employment as a housekeeper or nanny is one year. Extension of the residence permit beyond this period is not permitted.
multiple-entry
The ability to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times, unless otherwise specified, within the visa's validity period.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
from 2 months to 3 months
Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
After all required documents have been submitted, the application and accompanying materials are forwarded to the relevant German authorities at the applicant's intended place of residence and work during their stay in Germany. As a result, processing may take approximately two to three months. Additionally, if the applicant has previously lived in Germany, the processing time may be extended, as the Immigration Office may need to review their prior immigration history.
