Issued to those who make a huge investment in China mainland in specific fields or to foreigners married to a Chinese citizen for over 5 years. Holders of a D-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China. Foreign travelers can submit their entry information online before entering China using various official platforms, including the National Immigration Administration (NIA) website via PC or smartphone, the “NIA 12367” mobile app, or the WeChat (Alipay) mini program.
