Issued to foreign journalists and media staff who intend to visit China for a temporary news coverage mission or to work for a foreign news organization stationed in China. There are two types of China journalist visas for which it's possible to apply, depending on the duration of the chosen education program. J visa types include J1 and J2 visas. Foreign travelers can submit their entry information online before entering China using various official platforms, including the National Immigration Administration (NIA) website via PC or smartphone, the “NIA 12367” mobile app, or the WeChat (Alipay) mini program.
