Digital nomad visa — what you need to know
For foreigners who, while in Brazil, are able to perform remotely their professional activities with the use of information and telecommunications technologies. The holder of this visa cannot have any employment relations in Brazil.
Primary work activity must be carried out for entities outside Brazil
Income from US$1,500 per month or savings from US$18,000
A contract with a foreign employer or client is required
Temporary residence permit is issued for a period of up to 1 year
No Brazilian employer required
Can apply for a residence permit while in Brazil
The residence permit is extended for the same period
Family members can get a residence permit
After obtaining a family residence permit, family members gain the rights of residents, including access to employment
