Visa overview

This visa applies for Performing artists and sportspersons who have a work contract with an organization in Brazil for over 90 days, with no employment relationship. Approval of work contract by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice (Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública) is required. The sponsor, promoter, is responsible for making all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.

  • 1 year

    Visa validity period

    The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.

    <p><span data-sheets-root="1">Validity period is up to 1 year counted from the date of issue of the visa. The validity period of the temporary visa does not coincide with the period of the residence permit.</span></p>

    Duration of stay

    The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.

    <p><span data-sheets-root="1">Within 90 days of arrival in Brazil, bearers of visas must register with the Brazilian Immigration authorities (Pol&iacute;cia Federal &ndash; DPMAF) in the place where the applicant intends to take up residence. Residence authorization (once in Brazil only) is given by the Federal Police Department (DPMAF), accordingly to the purpose of the stay.</span></p>

    Consular fee

    A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.

    <p>Consular fee is the official charge for processing a visa application by an embassy or consulate of the country and does not include any additional payments that may be required depending on the place and method of submission, such as visa center fees, the cost of permits or other documents, postal or courier delivery, and others.</p>

Documents

Mandatory

The essential minimum documents required for a visa application, such as a passport or visa application form. These are necessary regardless of the location, method, or conditions of the application.

  • Passport

    A valid passport with a validity period exceeding 6 months and with at least two blank pages.

  • Photograph

    Must be recent (taken within the last 6 months), in color, clear, and sized 35x45mm. The face should occupy 70-80% of the image, printed on high-quality, matte paper with a plain, light background. Hair must not cover the eyes or eyebrows. Headwear is not permitted unless worn for religious or medical reasons, and the full face must remain visible.

    Fully filled online, printed and signed visa application form.

  • Full Birth certificate

    The name of the parents must be indicated. Birth certificates from outside the Consulate's jurisdiction (includes those issued in other countries) must be apostilled.

  • Police сlearance

    Valid, apostilled original police record from a home country. Applicants who have lived in other/multiple countries within the last 12 months must provide a police record from each of those countries. They must also be duly apostilled or legalized by the respective Brazilian consular authority with jurisdiction over these countries, and translated by a sworn translator, if necessary.

Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.

  • Application for minors

    If the applicant is under 18 years old, the following documents are required: a) Parental Consent Form signed by both parents or legal guardians and notarised by a local notary; b) Document proving the relationship with the minor, such as birth certificate, parents’ ID documents, death certificate, or sole custody document, where applicable.

  • Travel itinerary

    Online bookings, airline reservations and travel agency itineraries are accepted and must show intended dates and ports of entry and exit from Brazil.

  • Declaration of responsibility

    For applicants 14-18 years old, who will perform sports activities, within the scope of training conducted by a cultural center or sports entity. - Declaration of responsibility for the maintenance and subsistence of the immigrant athlete in Brazil, including: 1. travel expenses (round trip), stay and departure from the national territory and other charges and expenses with the immigrant; 2. medical, dental and hospital assistance; 3. enrollment in an educational establishment with guaranteed school attendance and monitoring; 4. Promotion of the adolescent's right to family and community life; and 5. guarantee of the other rights foreseen in the Brazilian legislation, especially in the Statute of the Child and Adolescent.

  • Evidence of compliance

    For applicants 14-18 years old, who will perform sports activities, within the scope of training conducted by a cultural center or sports entity. By the sporting entity: 1) registration in a federation, confederation or league of the corresponding sport; 2) In the case of football (soccer), document proving that the sports organization is classified in categories A and B; 3) proof of enrollment in the training program at the Municipal or District Council; 4) term of agreement with an educational institution or demonstration of its own educational structure;

    National passport or ID card; residence permit or other document confirming the right to legally reside in the country of residence, if it differs from the one stated in the applicant's passport.
