Significant Investor stream — what you need to know
This provisional visa is for people who invest at least AUD5 million in Australian investments that meet certain requirements and maintain investment activity in Australia. To apply, it is necessary to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), obtain nomination from a state or territory government agency or Austrade, and receive an invitation. After 5 years of residence under this visa, eligibility may arise to apply for permanent residence, provided that the relevant requirements are met. In some cases, an interim visa may be granted first, after which it becomes possible to transition to permanent residency.
