Visa overview
Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
It is a combined visa for both business and tourism, covering activities permitted under B1 and B2 categories.
The primary characteristics that define the conditions for obtaining and using a visa. These conditions may vary depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant and the decision of the immigration authorities of the country.
from 1 month to 10 years
Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
The validity of this visa is the period during which the visa holder can enter the country. The decision on the validity of the visa is made at the consulate based on the individual circumstances and citizenship of the applicant, and does not depend directly on him. The validity of this visa can vary from a minimum of 1 month to 10 years for citizens of certain countries.
from 1 month to 6 months
Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
The decision on the length of stay in the United States is made by the border patrol officer upon entry into the United States, who stamps the passport with the date by which the person must leave the United States. There are situations when the permitted period is greatly limited depending on the individual characteristics and circumstances of the foreign citizen, his travel history and citizenship. As a rule, for citizens of most countries, this period is 6 months. N.B.: Although the maximum permitted stay can be up to six months, a long stay, however, raises questions regarding the true purpose of the stay and the absence from the home country for such a long period. Therefore, it is recommended to have compelling reasons for staying for more than 4-5-6 months: for American representatives, the applicant ceases to be an ordinary tourist/businessman on a business visit, becoming a person who has been living in the United States for a long time.
to 6 months
Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
An extension of stay may be requested if: - The applicant was lawfully admitted to the United States on a nonimmigrant visa; - The nonimmigrant visa status remains valid; - No crime has been committed that would make the alien ineligible for a visa; - No conditions of admission have been violated; and - The alien's passport is valid and will remain valid for the duration of the stay. To apply for an extension, the applicant must file Form I-539 online or by mail at least 45 days before the visa expiration date, if applicable. The extension period is determined by USCIS based on the applicant's individual situation.
single-entry
The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.
multiple-entry
The ability to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times, unless otherwise specified, within the visa's validity period.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
A B visa may be issued for a single or multiple entries into the United States, depending on the circumstances of the applicant and the host organization.
from 21 days to 1 month 10 days
Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The processing time depends on the country of application, the purpose of the visit and the citizenship of the applicant. The standard processing time, in the absence of problems with the content of the application, is 21 business days from the day after the date of acceptance of the application. However, this period may be extended in individual cases, especially when additional documents are required from the applicant. Upon successful processing and approval of DS-160 applications, it is necessary to make an appointment for an interview at a US diplomatic mission, be it an embassy or consulate. The waiting time for an interview is determined individually for each institution - from two weeks to several months, which depends on the specific place of application.

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.

The visa application processing fee is the official fee charged by the embassy or consulate for processing the visa application and does not include any additional fees that may be required depending on the location and method of submission, such as visa application center fees, fees for processing permits and other documents, postal and courier delivery of documents, etc. Citizens of some countries, in addition to the standard visa fee, must pay an additional application fee (according to the reciprocity rule) after their visa application has been approved.
