Issued for employees of government and private sectors. Generally, after signing an employment contract, the employer obtains a work permit, which serves as the basis for issuing an entry permit and resident visa. Employees can sponsor their families for family reunification visa.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
Obtaining a work visa residency usually begins with an entry permit that allows entry into the UAE and is valid for 60 days from the date of issue. Upon arrival in the UAE, the applicant must complete the procedure for obtaining a resident visa within 60 days. A work visa residency is typically granted for 2 years or the duration of a work contract.

The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
Foreigner is given an entry permit that allows them to remain in the country for 60 days from the date of entry until the completion of the requirements for obtaining residency (federal or local government sector, private sector, domestic service workers).

Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
Extention is not provided for entry permit.

Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.

Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.

AED 200
Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
An entry visa (entry permit) for an employee costs basic AED 200. If the emplyee is already in the UAE - change of visa status within the country costs AED520. All visa expenses are borne by the employer. The cost consists of two parts: a work permit through the MOHRE and the residence visa through the immigration service. The state fee for the permit varies from AED 250 to AED 3,450, depending on the category of the company and the qualifications of the employee. Upon entry, the employee undergoes a medical examination (~AED 250) and receives an Emirates ID (state duty ~AED 170-370, depending on the period), insurance premium ~AED 60 per year to protect the employee's rights.
