Visa overview
Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
Issued to non-EU students or recent non-EU graduates who wish to undertake an internship or work as unpaid teachers in Spain for more than 180 days. Applicants for this visa must be non-EU citizens who have completed vocational training or an educational course in their home country.
The primary characteristics that define the conditions for obtaining and using a visa. These conditions may vary depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant and the decision of the immigration authorities of the country.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
If the planned stay for study purposes exceeds six months, the visa will initially be valid for 90 days. The student must apply for a Foreigner’s Identity Card (TIE) within one month of entering Spain at the Foreigners Registration Office or the local police station in the province where the visa was issued.

Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
Although the visa is only valid for 90 days, it grants permission to stay in Spain for more than 180 days. However, to benefit from this, the applicant must apply for a Foreigner’s Identity Card within 30 days of entering Spain, either at the Foreigners’ Registration Office or at the police station in the province where the permit was issued. The Foreigner’s Identity Card will determine the authorized length of stay in the country.

Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
In most cases, visa extensions are not granted; however, it is possible to apply for an extension of the residence permit with the immigration authority up to 60 days before its expiration. The visa can only be extended in cases where leaving Spanish territory is impossible due to the need for emergency medical treatment, serious illness, or the death of a relative, as well as in situations of force majeure or natural disasters.
single-entry
The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.
multiple-entry
The ability to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times, unless otherwise specified, within the visa's validity period.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
The applicant specifies the required number of entries on the visa application; however, consulates make a decision, which may vary depending on provided documentary evidence and other factors. A visa may be issued for single or multiple entries.

Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The established period for making a decision on this visa is 1 month from the date of application, however, in rare cases, the consulate may need from 30 to 60 days to make a decision on the application. Additionally, consular officers may require the applicant to provide additional documents or materials, depending on the circumstances. This may significantly increase the processing time.

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
The fee may be waived or may vary depending on the nationality, marital status, specific purpose of visit and other individual characteristics of the applicant. The consular fee is the official fee for processing the visa application by the Spanish Embassy or Consulate and does not include any additional payments that may be required depending on the place and method of submission, such as visa center fees, the cost of processing permits and other documents, postal and courier delivery of documents, etc.

Taken in the last six months, passport-size, colored, clean, and meeting other standards according to ICAO photo guidelines.
Visa application form
Official National visa application form, completely filled and signed by the applicant.
Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least until the anticipated end date of the study and with at least two blank pages.
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
Nota Verbal
“Nota Verbal” or invitation letter issued by an officially recognized organization which includes the name and passport number of the applicant, internship/teaching period and information on the organization such as its official name, contact number, e-mail address and direction.
Documents required vary depending on individual circumstances, specific visa conditions, the place, and the method of application.
Receipt of fee payment
Confirmation of the visa application processing fee.
Criminal record check
Criminal record certificate issued no more than five months before the application date, by their country or countries of residence for the past 5 years.
Medical certificate
The original and a copy of a medical certificate accrediting that they do not suffer from any disease that could cause serious repercussions for public health pursuant to the 2005 International Health Regulations.
Financial guarantee
One of the following options: - Certificate of income of the last 1 year or deposit certificate and transaction details for the last three months; - Financial guarantee letter/sponsor’s certificate of income of the last 1 year/payrolls issued by company with employment; - Certificate/deposit certificate and transaction details for the last three months/certificate of family relations.
Health insurance cover
Original and a copy of the certificate accrediting the public or private health insurance contracted with an insurance entity authorized to operate in Spain. The insurance policy must cover all the risks insured by Spain's public health system.
Final academic degree
A copy of the final academic degree or an equivalent certificate.
Acta de Manifestaciones
For minors. Issued by a Spanish notary office, this document must certify that a legal guardian will stay with the minor applicant for the entire duration of their stay in Spain, taking care of them and assuming full legal responsibility.
Legal guardian's ID
For minors. A copy of the identity card of the legal guardian. In the case of Spanish citizen, both sides of the “Documento Nacional de Identidad” and In the case of other nationals, both sides of the “Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero”. The legal guardian must be legally residing in Spain.
Parental consent
For minors. Parental consent for travel to Spain: downloaded from the website of the Embassy and filled out in Spanish; with signature notarization and The Hague Apostille (the same in the case of single-parent family).
*Foreign official documents must be apostilled and legalized in accordance with the regulations of the country whose consular or diplomatic mission they are being submitted to. Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
**Prior to submitting the documents, it is strongly advised to verify the specific procedures and requirements with the relevant mission.

Insurance policy for the entire period of stay, meeting the minimum mandatory or recommended requirements for the country.
Valid permanent resident status or proof thereof; all preliminary procedures for visa application have been completed.
