Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
Intended for foreigners who plan to enter and remain in Spain for one year with the primary purpose of carrying out entrepreneurial activities. Applicants may submit the residence permit application directly in Spain without the need for a visa, or alternatively, at the Consular Office.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
The investor visa is issued for 1 year. The validity period of a specific visa, however, is determined by the consulate based on the individual circumstances of the applicant and the documentary evidence supporting the purpose of the visit.

Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
The visa entitles its holder to reside in Spain for the entire period of its validity, which cannot exceed one year. However, if the applicant plans to stay in Spain for a longer period, it is necessary to apply for a Foreigner’s Identity Card (T.I.E., Tarjeta de Identificación de Extranjeros) at the Foreigners Registration Office or the relevant police station.

Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
In most cases, there is no provision for extending the visa. For those who wish to extend their stay, it is necessary first to obtain a Foreigner’s Identity Card, which can be extended for an additional two years, up to a maximum of five years. This card opens the way to obtaining a permanent residence permit, which can be requested after five years of legal residence in Spain.

The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.

The ability to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times, unless otherwise specified, within the visa's validity period.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
The applicant specifies the required number of entries on the visa application; however, consulates make a decision, which may vary depending on provided documentary evidence and other factors. A visa may be issued for single or multiple entries.

Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The established period for making a decision on this visa is 10 days from the date of application, however, in rare cases, the consulate may require from 10 to 30 days to make a decision on the application. Additionally, consular officers may require the applicant to provide additional documents or materials, depending on the circumstances. This may significantly increase the processing time.

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
The fee may be waived or may vary depending on the nationality, marital status, specific purpose of visit and other individual characteristics of the applicant. The consular fee is the official fee for processing the visa application by the Spanish Embassy or Consulate and does not include any additional payments that may be required depending on the place and method of submission, such as visa center fees, the cost of processing permits and other documents, postal and courier delivery of documents, etc.

Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least until the anticipated end date of the study and with at least two blank pages.
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
N.I.E.
Proof of having the Foreigner Identity Number (N.I.E.) If not, it is mandatory to apply for it in parallel with the visa application. Application for N.I.E. involves paying of additional fees.
Financial evidence
It is necessary to prove availability of a minimum amount that allows the maintenance of the applicant and their family members during their temporary residence in Spain. This minimum amount is equivalent to 100% of IPREM (Multiple Effect Public Income Indicator) for the head of the family requesting the visa and 50% of IPREM for the support of each of the dependent family members.
Residence permit
Residence permit for entrepreneurs processed by the Unit for Large Companies and Strategic Groups and granted by the General Directorate of Migration of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security. It is possible to submit online for it.
Report
Favorable report issued by the corresponding Economic and Commercial Office in the consular district or by the Directorate-General for International Trade and Investments. The report must take into account: - As a priority, the creation of jobs in Spain. - The business plan detailing the project, the market analysis and the financing. - Added value for the Spanish economy.

Criminal record check
Criminal record certificate issued no more than five months before the application date, by their country or countries of residence for the past 5 years.
Health insurance cover
Original and a copy of the certificate accrediting the public or private health insurance contracted with an insurance entity authorized to operate in Spain. The insurance policy must cover all the risks insured by Spain's public health system.
Power of attorney
Power of attorney, in the event that the request is not submitted by the applicant.
*Foreign official documents must be apostilled and legalized in accordance with the regulations of the country whose consular or diplomatic mission they are being submitted to. Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
