One of the investment options under the Portugal Golden Visa program. The minimum investment threshold in funds (Venture Capital / Private Equity Funds) is €500,000. The funds are allocated to restoration of historical sites, cultural projects and/or support for the arts and creative initiatives.

The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
The first residence permit card in Portugal is valid for 2 years. It is important to remember that, to maintain the status, the minimum stay in the country must be at least 14 days during each two-year period (on average about 7 days per year).
3 years
Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
The card can be renewed for an additional 3 years. To do this, it is necessary to: prove that the investment is still active; provide updated criminal record certificates; confirm the absence of debts; pay the fees; and submit the application through the AIMA portal (the new service replacing SEF). An application for permanent residence or citizenship can be submitted after 5 years of legal residence under the Golden Visa program. To obtain citizenship, the following conditions must be met: maintaining the investment for 5 years, successfully passing the Portuguese language exam (A2 level), and maintaining an ‘effective connection’ with Portugal (usually a minimal stay is sufficient).

Number of entries

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
The application fee is approximately €606. Additional cost required: - Issuance of the first residence permit card: approximately €6,045.20 per person. - Card renewal (every 2 years): approximately €3,023.20 per person.

Passport
A valid passport is required for the entire duration of the application process.
NIF (Número de Identificação Fiscal)
The Tax Identification Number (NIF, Portugal) is required for the application. It can be obtained online, and there are companies that provide assistance in obtaining a NIF remotely.
Certificate of no criminal record
A criminal (police) certificate from the country of origin and/or country of residence (if the applicant has lived there for more than 1 year). The certificate is usually required to be recent, for example, issued within 3 months prior to the application.
Health insurance
Proof that the applicant has health coverage valid in Portugal. This can be either coverage under the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS) or private insurance recognized internationally. The insurance must cover medical expenses for the entire duration of stay.

Completed application form with authorization for SEF to verify the criminal record.
Affidavit
Affidavit or similar declaration confirming the commitment to maintain the investment for at least 5 years.
Certificates of no outstanding debts
Documents confirming that the applicant has no debts to the Portuguese tax authorities and social security system. These certificates are usually required to be recent, for example, issued no more than 45 days prior to the application.
Payment receipt
Proof of payment of the administrative fee for submitting the Golden Visa application. When applying, an invoice will be issued via the ARI portal (or a similar system) — this receipt must be kept.
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
Confirmation of approval
Document confirming that the selected cultural or heritage project is officially approved by GEPAC / the Portuguese Ministry of Culture.
Declaration or agreement
Declaration or agreement with the fund/project organization specifying how the funds will be used and confirming that the applicant is supporting this particular project.
Proof of funds received by the fund
A receipt from the receiving organization/fund, along with bank confirmation that the money has been received.

Documents for family members
If applicable. Passports of family members. Marriage certificate (for spouses). Birth certificates of children (for minors). For children over 18: proof of enrollment in education (if required) and evidence of financial dependence on the applicant. Criminal record certificates for family members (if age and circumstances require).

Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
