Visa overview
Description of the visa, its purpose, conditions, peculiarities of issuance, and guidelines for utilization.
Issued to individuals working for innovative Start-up companies with a maximum of 15 employees. The employee must be an expert in a special field that the start-up needs in this start-up stage.
The primary characteristics that define the conditions for obtaining and using a visa. These conditions may vary depending on the individual circumstances of the applicant and the decision of the immigration authorities of the country.

Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
The MVV visa sticker is valid for 90 days after it is granted. Before applying for an MVV (National) visa, one must receive a positive decision from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND). After receiving a positive IND decision, the applicant has three months to apply for the MVV sticker.

Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
After recieving MVV visa sticker, the applicant must travel to the Netherlands and collect residence permit from the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) within 90 days. The term of validity of the residence permit depends on the term of the employment contract. The residence permit is valid for a maximum of 3 years.

Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
In most cases, visa extension is not provided, however, it is possible to apply for an extension of the residence permit to the immigration authority (IND) minimum 3 months before the expiration and no later than 4 weeks after the expiry.

The ability to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times, unless otherwise specified, within the visa's validity period.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.
The MVV is a multiple-entry visa.

Processing time
The period during which the immigration authorities review the application and make a decision regarding the issuance of the visa. Only business days are counted, excluding weekends and public holidays.
Decisions on visa applications are made by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) within 90 calendar days from the date of submission. After a positive IND decision, the applicant should reach the consulate to obtain an MVV sticker visa. It may take up to 10-15 business days to prepare a visa sticker.

Consular fee
A fee levied for the processing and evaluation of an application. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances. In certain instances, the payment of supplementary fees may be required.
Fees may be waived or varied depending on the applicant's nationality, marital status, age and specific purpose of visit. Based on the Benelux Treaty, citizens of San Marino and Israel do not pay for the application for a provisional residence permit (MVV). Visa fees are lower for Turkish nationals under the EEC-Turkey Association Agreement. Based on the Benelux Treaty, citizens of San Marino and Israel do not have to pay for a provisional residence permit application (MVV), so they don't have to go through the TEV process (joint application for MVV and residence permits). The consular fee is the official charge for processing an MVV visa and a residence permit application at an embassy or consulate in the Netherlands and does not include additional charges that may be incurred depending on where and how the application is submitted, such as fees at visa centers, costs of permits or documents, postage or courier services, etc.

Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least three months and with at least two blank pages.
Photograph
Taken in the last six months, passport-size, colored, clean, and meeting other standards according to ICAO photo guidelines.
MVV issue form
A completed and signed MVV issue form.
Letter from the IND
A photocopy of the letter from the IND stating that application has been approved.
Civic integration examination certificate
For a regular provisional residence permit aplicant must pass the civic integration examination abroad or get an exemption from this.
Declaration of intent to undergo TB test
In order to obtain a residence permit, aplicant must be prepared to undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test in the Netherlands and - if necessary -treatment. After arrival to the Netherlands, withing 3 months aplicant should make a TB test appointment with the Municipal Health Service (GGD) in the area where they live or will be living.
Antecedents certificate
An antecedents certificate is a statement in which the applicant indicates whether they have committed a criminal offense in the past, or are currently being prosecuted for committing a criminal offense. This includes crimes committed in the Netherlands or criminal offenses abroad. The antecedents certificate must be completed by any person 12 years of age or older.
Documents that specify, substantiate, and confirm the purpose of the visit, as well as provide necessary information about the applicant and their future activities in the country.
Business plan
A step-by-step plan that contains information on applicant`s role and tasks in the start-up company, about steps of company`s future development, about innovative nature of the product or service for the Netherlands.
Agreement with facilitator
The agreement must be signed by both parties and include information on the nature of the facilitation, the conditions of the agreement, the facilitator’s interest in the start-up company.
Facilitator reliability proof
A positive recommendation of RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency). Or as many evidence as possible showing the expertise and experience of the facilitator (education diplomas, CV, financial statements etc).
Employment contract
An employment contract indicating the nature of the work and the salary, a contract indicating the form, the percentage, and the conditions of the employee participation and the associated participation scheme. An anonymised printout of the end-of-year payslip that is not older than 3 months at the time the application is assessed. Evidence of the employee participation.
Start-up evidence of means of support
If start-up founder is financing the means of support: copy of founder`s or company`s Dutch bank account, showing available balance; or statement from the foreign bank, detailing the amount (monthly) which is paid into the account in the Netherlands in founder`s name or company’s name. If applicant`s facilitator is (partially) financing the means of support: a contract, detailing the financial resources that will be provided. If (partially) financed by a third financier: bank satement showing the amount that will be paid each month; or an original statement from the financier and a copy of financier’s passport; and a recent bank statement or bank specification which shows financier’s bank balance.

Documents for minor children
Birth certificate, adoption certificate, or guardianship certificate evidencing parental or guardianship rights; certified power of attorney or permission from parents or legal guardians for minors traveling abroad.
Receipt of fee payment
Confirmation of the visa application processing fee.
*Foreign official documents must be apostilled and legalized in accordance with the regulations of the country whose consular or diplomatic mission they are being submitted to. Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
