Validity period
The period during which the visa remains valid and can be used for entry into the country. The validity period or expiration date is indicated directly on the visa itself.
It has a maximum validity of 180 days, visa is valid begining on the date of issuance. Issuance of the visa is subject to the result of the interview at the consulate.

Length of stay
The maximum duration for which one is permitted to stay in the country continuously from the date of entry.
Allows to stay in Mexico for up to 6 months, but the permitted period of stay is determined individually by the border guard at the border. The period of stay is not indicated in the visa, but in the Forma Migratoria Múltiple, and can be significantly less than 180 days. It is this form that serves as confirmation of the foreigner's legal stay in Mexico.

The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
