The program allows one to obtain a residence permit in exchange for investments in real estate or a foreign currency deposit. When buying real estate, the status of a resident depends on the amount of investment: having invested at least 200,000 USD in one or more properties, the investor receives a renewable 5-year residence permit; investments of 100,000 USD give a 3-year permit, and 50,000 USD - a 1-year term. Alternatively, investment can be a deposit of 100,000 USD to an Egyptian bank account, which provides a 3-year permit, and 50,000 USD provides a 1-year one.
