Extension of stay
The extension of the maximum duration of stay in the country initially permitted by the visa, subject to approval by the immigration authorities. This is typically processed within the country without the need for departure.
<p>An extension application must be submitted to the nearest immigration office; extensions are granted solely at the discretion of the Dominican Republic and are not guaranteed.</p>

The possibility of entering the country only once during the visa's validity period. After departure from the country with such a visa, re-entry is not possible, even if the visa's validity period has not yet expired.
Number of entries
A parameter specifying the number of times the visa holder can enter the country during its validity period. Visas can be single-entry, multiple-entry, or with a specified number of entries.

Passport
Issued less than 10 years ago, with a validity period exceeding the duration of the visa by at least six months and with at least two blank pages.
Photograph
Must be recent (taken within the last 6 months), in color, clear, and sized 40x50mm. The face should occupy 70-80% of the image, printed on high-quality, matte paper with a plain, light background. Hair must not cover the eyes or eyebrows. Headwear is not permitted unless worn for religious or medical reasons, and the full face must remain visible.

Covering letter
Applicants must submit a signed and dated cover letter confirming the purpose and duration of the visit, written in Spanish or accompanied by a Spanish translation.
Letter of guarantee
A letter of guarantee from the host, written in Spanish, duly notarized and legalized by the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic. The letter must include a clause stating that the guarantor assumes moral and financial responsibility for the applicant’s stay and return, and that the applicant will not request a change of immigration status from within the Dominican Republic.

Birth certificate
Birth certificate (original), duly legalized or apostilled. If issued in a language other than Spanish, it must be accompanied by a translation prepared by a certified translator; the translation must also be legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostilled, as applicable.
Current immigration or residence status
National passport or ID card; residence permit or other document confirming the right to legally reside in the country of residence, if it differs from the one stated in the applicant's passport.
Proof of financial mean
Recent bank statement for the last 3 months, bank letter(s) from a savings or checking account, or bank certificates, or any other proof of income, including a labor certification (indicating the date of the applicant's entry into the company, the position held, and the salary). This document must demonstrate sufficient funds to support oneself for the entire stay and for return expenses. The minimum required amount is 1000 USD per applicant. In cases of sponsorship by a host, an invitation letter with financial commitments and proof of the sponsor's income must also be provided. Additionally, applicants may submit property titles (residence, business, farm, or land) or vehicle registration as further evidence of financial means.
Proof of accommodation
Confirmed hotel booking, rental contract, proof of residential property ownership, or letter of invitation indicating the address and personal details of the private host who will provide accommodation for the entire duration of the stay in the Dominican Republic.
Return ticket
Paid in full or flight booking confirmation. Must be issued by airline or travel company and must contain the applicant's name, flight number and date.
Criminal record certificate
Confirming no criminal record in the applicant’s home or residence country. The document must be issued by the competent authority of the countries where the applicant has resided in the last 5 years. The certificate must be duly legalized or apostilled, have a validity of 1 year, and, if issued in a language other than Spanish, be accompanied by a translation from a certified court interpreter. Not required for minors.
Documents for minor children
Birth certificate, adoption certificate, or guardianship certificate evidencing parental or guardianship rights. For minors traveling abroad, a certified power of attorney or written permission from the parents or legal guardians is required, accompanied by a copy of the passport of the parent or guardian providing consent. All documents must be duly legalized or apostilled. If issued in a language other than Spanish, they must be translated by a judicial interpreter, and the translation must be legalized by a Dominican consulate or apostilled, as applicable.
Proof of family ties
Marriage certificate or other document confirming the relationship, guardianship, or family ties, duly legalized or apostilled. If the documents are issued in a language other than Spanish, they must be accompanied by a Spanish translation.
Letter of proof of employment
Letter from employer, contract, payslip or other documents confirming the applicant's position and work status. Unemployed persons must provide a letter explaining and confirming sufficient funds. Appropriate documents corresponding to employment status must be provided, whether the applicant is employed, a student, or retired.
Letter of full-time student status
Issued by an educational institution to confirm the applicant's student status, indicating the course/class and contact information of the institution. If applicable.
Travel history
If applicable. Copies of Dominican visas and/or visas issued by other countries, whether valid or expired.
Travel health insurance
Valid for the full duration of stay in the Dominican Republic, covering at least €30,000, and include emergency medical care, hospitalization, and repatriation, including in case of death.
Medical certificate
In some cases, citizens or residents of some countries may be required to provide health certificates confirming that they have no easily transmitted diseases such as tuberculosis or other serious diseases that pose a risk and danger to large numbers of people. It is recommended to check the exact requirements directly with the place where the application is submitted.

Additionally, they must be accompanied by a certified translation into the official language of that country or into English, unless otherwise specified by the mission's requirements.
