Foreigners who need to visit China urgently for various emergency reasons—such as business, family matters, work, study, or other private purposes—and do not have time to apply for a visa at Chinese embassies or consulates abroad may be eligible to obtain a Visa on Arrival upon arrival in China. This visa is generally valid for a single entry with a stay of up to 30 days. Foreign travelers can submit their entry information online before entering China using various official platforms, including the National Immigration Administration (NIA) website via PC or smartphone, the “NIA 12367” mobile app, or the WeChat (Alipay) mini program.
