Relatives of Chinese citizens and foreigners with permanent residence permits can obtain China family (Q) visas. Depending on the length of stay and eligibility of the applicant, the family visa has two subclasses of the Q visa, Q1, and Q2. Q1 visa is for stays exceeding 180 days, Q2 visa is for a short trip of fewer than 180 days.
